An Oakland musician, dj, vj, and hacker, lunaria is a unique audio/video artist who performs entirely on software of her own creation. Inspired in the early 2000’s by then-futuristic music videos from artists like Chris Cunningham, Aphex Twin and Autechre, lunaria’s code mixes her favorite tracks and projects generative highly synchronized music-reactive 60fps visuals. lunaria mesmerizes the audience as each musical element flashes its associated video element onto her triple projector system. An alum of Zebbler’s Glitchloft and legendary Glitchgiving parties, lunaria returns for her first show in Cambridge in over a decade.

Wilven [live electronica av]

Wilven [who previously performed under his ISEKAI project name] is a veteran Hypnothesis headliner from 2023, joining us shortly after competing on a massive Chinese DJ reality TV show. When he said he was available to play at our event - we felt that it was almost obligatory to make that happen - we are going to get a guaranteed amazing show.
This Audio/Visual Project strives to take the audience on a journey to a world of hope, loss, beauty and madness unlike anything we’ve experienced before. A closely intertwined performance both from the performer to the visuals and to the audience will aim to deliver a brand new form of interactivity and immersiveness, inviting us to a whole other realm of colors and sounds, foreign yet familiar. Although heavily focused on electronica, we can expect a mix mash from a variety of genres both light and heavy, all alongside Wilven’s original music and covers. Wilven will be incorporating various MIDI controllers and instruments along with his vocals, communicating his vision for music and a new era of live performance.

Under the alias “CadoFox”, Southern Cali born artist Angel Acevedo blends the edgy intricacies of cyberpunk with the refined elegance of the Art Deco period both musically and visually. Their sonic palette weaves together musical language from bebop, modal, and contemporary jazz with the intensity and grit of heavy electronic genres such as Bass House, Dubstep, and more.

EDUO presents UNIverse [original electronica / pop / av]

Hypnothesis concert will feature a performance of EDUO’s coming EP: UNIverse. The EP contains 6 songs, intending to reflect EDUO’s feeling as a small helpless individual in search for home and a feeling of security in a vast chaotic universe. Eventually the protagonist of the story comes back to the start through time rewind, and realizes that home is a feeling and there would never be a universe without U N I.

IDKAATAL [hyperpop av]

“IDKAATAL” is a visual side project from Philip Fei, that he uses this name to create all the artworks and visuals for his artist name “DkCheng”. The “IDKAATAL” is the abbreviation of “I don’t know anything at all.” Means that he has always been ignorant of everything, so he has been constantly improving his creativity.
He created his visual contents based on Blender and After Effect, also mixed with some hand drawing and realistic shooting footage.

Free Play [experimental live av duo]

This is a blend of two performers incorporating modular synthesizers, jazz, ambient experimental music with visual and auditory experience. The improvised notes interact with synthesizers, creating paintings on the screen that reflect the music's theme. It's an exciting ride, where the soul is emptied, broken into pieces, tossed into the soil, and then carried away by the wind back into nature.

"Surging Edges" is an (average) avant-garde DJ and VJ set that fuses the energetic rhythms of (average) electronic head-bangers such as house, IDM, neurofunk, and some non-electronic music with cutting-edge, audio-responsive (normal) visual arts.
Wenbo, an average Berklee EPD student with absolutely no brand persona, wrote this part for homework credits, also aiming to create something both fun to listen to and watch. Despite having invested a significant amount of money in his electronic music education, he will not use any of his own music in this performance. Instead, he will present what he considers the grooviest music ever, along with the coolest VJ visuals (he ever made).

Sleeper is an Electronic and Rock Producer based in Beijing, China. Learning dual majors in Music Production & Engineering and Electronic Production & Sound Design at Berklee College of Music.
In electronic music, Sleeper often brings elements of other musical styles and varied meters into his electronic music due to his multiple stylistic and cultural influences. This makes his style unique in the field of electronic music. His specialties include Electronic Lofi-Hiphop, Dubstep, DnB, and Future Garage.
As a keyboard player, he also specializes in purely instrumental music styles such as Math Rock and Progressive Metal.
In the field of visuals, Sleeper specializes in using Touch Designer, Resolume, and AI to generate his unique visual effects. These include Fluid Movement, Watercolor, Glitch, and Geometry.
